SQUAT THE CITY: How to use the arts for housing justice, book launch by Norman Nawrocki

Join Montreal author/activist Norman Nawrocki as he launches his incendiary new collection of essays, poems, songs, raps, rants, chants, anecdotes and extracts from his plays, stories, albums and workshops for housing justice. Based on his decades of ongoing work as an activist/artist/organizer with housing and tenant’s rights groups across Canada. Also includes photos, posters, articles and reviews, plus material from his legendary radical community cabarets with his bands, Rhythm Activism and DaZoque! The headline news-making cabarets, were organized with the province-wide coalition, FRAPRU (People's Rights Over Urban Development) and seen by thousands. Examples of how one socially conscious artist works with words, art, theatre, humour and music with community groups, and how other creative spirits and activists can join in on the front lines too.
